The Elizabeth House is a residential maternity and parenting program. We offer safe and stable housing to pregnant homeless single women, ages 18 and older. The Elizabeth House, a program of Care Net Pregnancy Center of Dane County, is an eight bed maternity and parenting program. Office hours are on our website: https://www.elizabethhousedane.org/contact/All of our services are free of charge, but there is a high accountability and expectation of participation in The Elizabeth House programming which includes but is not limited to nutrition, financial education, case management, obtaining and maintaining employment, parenting education,"Heart chats," and devotions. If you have any questions feel free to contact our office.Applicant criteria: 18+, single, first time pregnant woman or pregnant woman with one additional child under the age of 2, currently homeless or unstable housing. Must have commitment to full participation in Case Management and house programming. The Elizabeth House is not treatment based (mental health or AODA) nor is it emergency shelter.What applicants can expect:A thorough intake process that determines if the applicant is appropriate for community living. (All applicants are subject to drug screening upon first initial interview and a background check). All applicants are evaluated for substance use/abuse, motivation to participate and engage case management, ability to follow house policies, and live cooperatively in a structured community setting. All accepted residents are to actively engage in house functions, which includes, managing chores, house maintenance, curfew, and abiding house policy and procedures. Additionally, all residents are required to either attend school or find employment and participate in Case Management Services provided by staff of The Elizabeth House.
