Day and Evening Shelter
Shelter
The basic needs of food, shelter and hospitality are provided through the network of Family Promise congregations. The churches are located across the county and are open from 5 pm to 7 am daily. While at the churches, the evening meal is provided along with the morning meal. Foods are made available to be packed for lunch at the day center or at the clients place of employment. During day time hours clients stay at the day center unless they are employed or have other appointments.
First call for help
Callers are asked a series of questions that will help determine what types of resources are needed. If homelessness is not imminent the caller is provided with information on affordable housing and referred to other agencies and resources that can prevent them from becoming homeless. Our goal is to help maintain safe and secure communities by keeping people safely housed or sheltered so they do not have to live in their cars or on the streets.
