Family Shelter
MSCs family shelter consists of 15 two- and three-bedroom houses in a neighborhood in Kent. Families stay temporarily while working with a case manager to set goals for finding stable housing. Families stay on a month-to-month basis dependent on family needs and willingness to follow program guidelines.
Eligibility Requirements:
    Family is homeless
    Family with children, at least one child in the family must be under 18
    Family income no more than 30% of the AMI (Area Median Income)
    Committed to working with a case manager
    MSC Family Shelter doesnt take people with charges of arson, sex offenses, or repeated assaults
    Family must have no other housing options
To access homeless housing programs in King County, individuals must get assessed through the Coordinated Entry for All Regional Access Points.  You can make an appointment by calling 2-1-1.

Transitional Housing for Families
Families may qualify to live in MSC transitional housing. During this time, program participants work with a case manager to reduce the barriers to self-sufficiency such as mental health issues, physical disabilities, drug/alcohol treatment, employment, education, legal and/or financial issues.
Eligibility Requirements:
    Families include single-parent or two-parent families with at least one child under 18 years of age
    Families must be homeless (per HUD definition)
    Family income must be less than 30% of AMI (Area Median Income); (amount depends on family size)
    Participants must be willing to participate in case management

Housing for Men in Recovery
Men in recovery from drug and/or alcohol addiction, who are homeless, and who cannot afford market rate housing may qualify for MSCs Mens Clean and Sober Transitional Housing Program. Participants live in shared housing in single-family homes with other men in recovery who are actively working to rebuild their lives. Program participants work with a case manager and other support staff to reduce barriers to self-sufficiency, such as mental health issues, physical disabilities, drug/alcohol treatment, employment, education, legal, and/or financial issues. Rents are based on income and a deposit is due at move-in.
Eligibility requirements:
    18 years of age or older
    Single without custodial children
    Must be homeless
    Must verify low-income status (30% of area median income)
    Must be enrolled in a recovery program (treatment, AA, NA, etc.)
    Must have an income
    Willing to participate in case management services
NOTE: Clients may have criminal history BUT it cannot include meth production, sex offenses, arson charges, or significant recent assaults.

Housing for Women in Recovery
Women in recovery from drug and/or alcohol addiction, who are homeless, and who cannot afford market rate rent can live in a supportive, communal environment as part of MSCs Titusville Program. Women live in an historic downtown Kent building, which offers dormitory-style housing, with individual bedrooms and common kitchen, bathroom, and living room areas. Up to 15 women live here at one time. Program participants work with a case manager and set goals. Nearly 300 women have transitioned through this program with an 80-percent success rate at maintaining long-term sobriety and retaining stable housing. All residents must be self-managed as the program does not offer onsite staff.
