Community Action Center (CAC) provides emergency shelter assistance to individuals and families in need. Motel vouchers may be issued to individuals that are currently homeless. If after hours, motel vouchers can also be provided by the Pullman Police Department. Contact them at (509) 332-2521.
Additionally, CAC provides different housing solutions for any individuals in crisis:
Emergency Housing Solutions: Individuals and/or families that are homeless or facing eviction should schedule an appointment with a Housing Solutions staff member so that their housing needs and options for housing assistance are reviewed. Assistance is available to prevent eviction and to move-in, depending on qualifications. Individuals and/or families will be connected with the help they need.
Transitional Housing: Provides subsidy for rent based on household income. A Housing Solutions staff member screens candidates and assesses the situation. An application is submitted based upon the initial screening and assessment process. Families that are in need of emergency housing assistance should contact the Housing Solutions staff to schedule an appointment. Funds are available on a limited basis. Also, there may be a waiting list for these programs.
