OUR LOCATION
Homeward Bound will offer residential treatment as soon as we complete our move to a new facility. Outpatient treatment and administrative offices are located at 315 Sunset Avenue. This facility is easily accessible from I-35 and I-30 and is on several DART bus lines. All programs are licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
Men's Residential Program
We use evidence-based medical and therapeutic practices in our 30-bed mens unit. We take a holistic approach, and we help with transitional housing, community resources, and outpatient services.
In our 30-bed unit for men with substance use disorder, we employ evidence-based medical and therapeutic practices. Cognitive-behavioral therapy encourages the client to examine his beliefs and preconceived notions. This therapy method addresses the whole person and the situation he is coming from. That may include housing, family, employment, health problems, and other issues that contribute to addiction.
Medical treatment is supervised by a full-time, on-site physician and 24-hour nurses trained in addiction recovery. Sometimes medication is needed to ease a client away from addiction; treatment is also needed for the toll addiction takes on overall health. When our clients need medical assessments and treatments from specialists outside Homeward Bounds treatment facility, we help with appointments and transportation.
Women's Residential Program
Intense case management links women in our 18-bed residential treatment program with an array of services, such as specialized medical care, education, employment, and safe, sober housing.
Crisis Residential Unit
We offer a safe place for people experiencing a psychiatric episode. Often, we find that there is an underlying substance abuse issue as well, and we are well-equipped to help with those issues.
Recovery Support Services
Recovery coaches assist clients throughout their stay with us and as inpatient treatment is coming to an end. It is the recovery coach who helps with re-entry into the world, finding community resources to help with housing, medical care, and job training.
