CAC Knoxville Homeward Bound

Services: Case management and emergency services for the homeless, including housing, counseling, educational services, and job training.

The Homeward Bound Program promotes self-sufficiency by assisting homeless individuals and families in achieving their maximum level of independence through housing, education, and employment. A variety of programs serve the homeless and at-risk populations, while staff serve on a number of committees to promote an enhanced level of community services. Programs for clients include:
REACH
Resources Extended to Assist the Chronically Homeless is a HUD funded street outreach and case management program for individuals & families who stay in camps, vehicles, & under bridges. The purpose is to bring people into shelters and/or housing, while addressing employability & substance abuse concerns.
 
Project SUCCEED
A HUD funded program that offers outreach and long term case management to individuals & families residing in homeless shelters or transitional housing. Housing placement, advocacy, parenting classes, budgeting, employability, & adult education are some of the supportive services provided. Case management is available for as long as the client needs to become self-sufficient.
Families In Need
A HUD funded intensive case management program for individuals and families residing in shelters & transitional programs to promote total independence from public assistance. Housing placement, employment, educational endeavors, life skills, and advocacy are all components of this program.
Emergency Solutions Grant
The ESG provides cash resources to the staff to better serve the homeless clients of the above listed programs. Items regularly acquired through this grant include housing deposits, first month's rent, utility deposits, and other supportive services.
Stranded Travelers
Individuals & families who become stranded in the Knoxville area due to no fault of their own & have a legitimate work or medical destination, may receive travel assistance. Proper identification, verification of home, job and /or medical appointment is required. For gasoline assistance, a valid driver's license, insurance & current vehicle registration is required. This service is provided as funding is available.

How long can you stay here?

  1. Once u get there u can never leave it seems because everything u own gets thrown out or stolen and it ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE YOUR PHONE YOUR I.D SSI card birth certificate...etc
