Mitchell Area Safehouse is a domestic violence/sexual assault emergency shelter. We do provide homeless services but we do not offer homeless shelter for anyone who is not fleeing an emergency situation due to family violence.
The Mitchell Area Safehouse provides emergency and/or transitional housing for adult victims and their children escaping domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. The shelter is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is a locked and secure facility equipped with cameras and an alarm system that allow direct contact to police dispatch.
Our goal is to provide for the safety of victims and their children as they escape the violence at home. Available at the shelter are food for meal preparation, laundry facilities and support services.
