The Salvation Army, an international evangelical organization, provides services to residents of Lehigh County.
Services Include:
ADDICTION SERVICES
Intake and transportation to the Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center for drug/alcohol addictions. Individuals must be substance free for 72 hours. Income guidelines. No fees.
FOOD
Food Pantry distributes food to any Lehigh Valley resident. Must sign a declaration of need. Open Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri, 8:30am -12pm and 1pm-4pm. Open Wed 8:30am-12pm. Appointments preferred.
HEALTHCARE
Prescription assistance can be provided once a year for life sustaining medication. $50 maximum. Must meet income guidelines.
HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE
Accepts gift/toy donations from Toys for Tots, Angel Trees and individual donors. Distributes items to families at Christmas. Must meet income guidelines. Apply for program in October - call office for dates.
HOUSING ASSISTANCE
Transitional Housing program is a 2 year program for women with children who are furthering their education. Call the office for application.
UTILITIES
Administers UGI's CAP and Operation Share programs. Applicants must meet income guidelines and are not eligible if they are already disconnected.
OLDER ADULT SERVICES
Senior program distributes monthly supplemental food packages to low income adults over 60. On pick-up day, a hot meal and program is provided. All seniors, regardless of income, can come in for the monthly meal and program.
