If you have stayed in this shelter, how was your stay?

User Answers

  1. I stayed here for 9 months back in 2012. I was thankful to have a place to stay, if you're respectful to the people there and follow the rules they will treat you well and take care of you.

Is this a safe shelter to stay in?

User Answers

  1. It's safe there, they don't tolerate people who steal, fight, or cause trouble or conflict, so people like that lose their spot there.

Do you have any advice for those wanting to stay at this shelter?

User Answers

  1. It's a men's mission so there is bible study and two services a day so if you're not religious it might be hard for you, but even if you're not and you are at least respectful and try to participate you'll be okay. I would also say if you stay there and are having trouble or a problem with something, talk to Jim and be honest with him, he genuinely cares about people and has more than likely been where you are or has gone through what you are going through. He doesn't judge you or look down on you and if you are willing to try he is willing to help. Jim is a good, honest, and fair man.

  2. I appreciate reading your post. I know Jim as well and he is a huge blessing. He helped my husband thru the worst and also helped him find Jesus. Jim deserves a crown of jewels fo all he has done for so many men for 43 years and counting. I grew close to Him as well. Even though I am a woman, he was ALWAYS there to talk to me and give me the best guidance you could think of. He married my fiance and myself in 4/24. We had been together for 20 years. Jim seen the love, patience and potential in our relationship. Seeing my husband find the Lord was such a beautiful thing to witness. My husband went from being total science/evolutionist to a full blown believer in christ. Amazing..

How long can you stay here?

User Answers

  1. You can stay as long as you need, but you have to follow the rules and be respectful.

  2. It depends. I have seen people stay there for years and I have seen people get kicked out in 3 months. You can be the sweetest person, but if you don't get along with certain people theyr will get the staff together and have you kicked out. It's a shame.
