Grandma’s House of Central Oregon

Grandma's House of Central Oregon, is non-denominational, non-profit home, and outreach, providing safe, nurturing, and stable shelter to homeless and/or abused pregnant, (whether choosing adoption or parenting) and parenting teens mothers between the ages of 12 to 19 years old and their babies. We are presently the only home East of the Cascades serving the needs of this high-risk population. Grandma's House is not state or federally funded. We are proud to be a United Way Agency, but without the support & dedication of people in our community we could not exist.Grandma's House is more than a safe haven, it is a teaching home. We provide educational programs such as childbirth education, parenting, self esteem, career development and life-skills that are open to, and utilized by, all pregnant, (whether choosing adoption or parenting) and parenting teens in the tri-County area. We have comprehensive prenatal, and post-natal health care services specific to pregnant and parenting teens provided by a nurse from Deschutes County Maternal Health with a Mental Health professional available for one-on-one or in-house counseling. We have options counseling with adoption counseling referrals as requested. Our curriculum is designed to promote self-sufficiency and individual responsibility, while encouraging the pursuit of healthy, positive lifestyles. Our material is presented at the appropriate age levels and are available to all pregnant or parenting teens at no cost.
