J to Kosciuszko. Exit at east end of the station. Walk 3 blocks south on Patchen Ave. Right on Lexington Ave.

C to Utica. Walk northeast on Malcolm X Blvd. towards Marion St. Left on Malcolm X Blvd. (Reid Ave.). Right on Lexington Ave.

Bus:

The following buses serve Bread and Life: the B46 or the B52 to Gates Avenue & Malcolm X Blvd. Walk north to Lexington Ave. and turn right on Lexington: the B15 in either direction to Lexington Ave., then walk east towards Broadway, and the B38 to Malcolm X Blvd then walk south to Lexington Avenue and make a left on Lexington.

Our Building

Our modern, bright building from Rogers Marvel Architects creates a welcoming environment for people to receive nutritious food and crucial services. Designed with our clients in mind, this former factory warehouse ensures those we serve feel comfortable during every visit. Our main Soup Kitchen serves breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday. Menus are developed based on our guests nutritional needs and cultural diversity, as well as quality and availability of products. There is an emphasis on whole foods preparation using local produce and milk.

St John's Bread and Life is located at 795 Lexington Avenue, between Malcolm X Blvd. & Patchen Avenue, in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn.

Subway: Take the J train to the Kosciuszko Street Stop. Exit at the east end of the station (the front if you're coming from Manhattan, the rear if you're heading to Manhattan). Walk 3 blocks south on Patchen Avenue and turn right on to Lexington Avenue.

Our groundbreaking Digital Food Choice Pantry (DCFP) distributes uncooked meals to those who need food using a point system based on family size. Shopping is done on a bilingual touch screen computer. Each item chosen subtracts points from your account and groceries are packed to order. Points are automatically replenished every 30 days. Fresh produce, often grown in New York State, is also available daily through the pantry as well as fresh local milk.

Monday through Thursday: 8:00am to 11:30am

Friday : 9:00am to 11:30am

Extended Hours Tuesday and Thursday : 3:00pm to 6:30pm

Visit St. Johns Bread & Life Monday through Thursday from 8:30am 11:30am.

Bring at least one of the following items with you:
