A joke. A soon to be homeless person wants to apply for help but the catch is that ALL wait lists ARE closed. You WILL wait more than 2 years. I do NOT have a drug or alcohol addiction /problem. So there is no help.

I was denied for not attending a ARB meeting, but the funny thing is, I wasn't made aware of the supposed meeting. I never received any type of communication about a ARB meeting and I have kept every letter I've received from Reno housing authority since we started this long process. When I did have a scheduled appt for this meeting I was there. However my other members of my household were not. So I was informed they had to schedule in writing a appt. Both of them followed thru. Then in May I sent the request for the meeting in writing like they demand and along with those request I asked for a copy of my criminal background and the next week I received a letter stating I was denied a live in caregiver but 3 weeks before that I received a letter stating I was eligible for live in care. Then 2 weeks ago I received a update my info letter and last week I received a denial. What's really going on? Does the right hand not know what the left is doing? This is my life we are talking about. Why in the world would a person not attend a important meeting like this after jumping thru their hoops for over a year? That's simply ridiculous. I have filed a complaint with HUD.
