Belknap House's mission is to provide families in Belknap County safe shelter, when children are especially at risk, and to empower families to become self-sufficient and independent by providing opportunities of education and resources available to them. Open all year, 24/7, primary intake is 9-5, other times on an emergency basis. Donations Needed: Monthly giving program, wish list of household items (personal, hygiene, food, baby supplies), work projects such as lawn care, playground repairs, internal home maintenance and upkeep, furniture, books, remote education equipment. The shelter is dependent on Grants and key, yearly fund raining events in addition to donations. Belknap House in fully connected to the local, federal, and community support organizations. The website connects to many other available sources of support for families and the Belknap House. Volunteers Needed: Belknap House relies on volunteers for most of it’s home shelter operations. We are always looking for volunteers and have opportunities that can be tailored to their availability and skills, not only in operations of the shelter itself but also in fund raining events, promotions, and projects for the home. Volunteers supporting operations are security screened and are fully trained, so no experience is needed.
