Stephen Center

Pettigrew Emergency Shelter provides emergency services for homeless single men, single women and parents with children. Meals are available to residents three times per day, seven days per week. Stephen Centers facilities are substance-free. Residents must be sober to enter.
HERO Addiction Recovery

Stephen Centers HERO Program provides substance abuse treatment for low-income and homeless individuals. Services are also provided for those who are dually diagnosed with both substance abuse and mental illness. The HERO Program is a state-licensed, nationally accredited (CARF) facility utilizing evidence based practices and client focused care. Multiple levels of care include:

    Long term residential care
    Short term residential care
    Non-residential intensive outpatient treatment
    Non-residential outpatient treatment
    Substance abuse evaluations

Levels of Care
Inpatient Services

Clients live in the John Hoich Center for Recovery to complete residential treatment followed by intensive outpatient treatment within a structured living environment that utilizes a "step down" system of addiction recovery.
Outpatient Services

Stephen Center provides non-residential outpatient services consisting of 6-8 weeks of group and individual co-occurring treatment. Costs are based on a sliding scale. Some Stephen Center residents in emergency shelter and permanent supportive housing qualify for services at no cost.
Intensive Outpatient Services

Stephen Center provides non-residential intensive outpatient services consisting of 12-16 weeks of group and individual co-occurring treatment. Costs are based on a sliding scale. Some Stephen Center residents in emergency shelter and permanent supportive housing qualify for services at no cost.
HERO Juvenile Intensive Outpatient Services

Provides non-residential intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment for juveniles ages 13 to 19. Treatment consists of group and individual co-occurring treatment. Cost is based on a sliding scale.

Permanent Supportive Housing Apartments

Single room occupancy plus one, two and three bedroom apartment rentals for individuals and families seeking to live in a supportive, sober-living community. Supportive services include case management and life skills education. Applicants must qualify at or below 30% of the areas median income and provide verification of special needs status. Application fee and background check apply. Applicants must qualify under OHA regulations. Rents are based on 30%-40% of the applicants income.   Please see Housing Coordinator for further details.

    Stephen center is biasis and unfair, unless you are telling on each other. Favor for a favor from staff to residents, so blessed I have real family, just hate it took so long to wake up. Maggie is Amazing, she is a rare breed.
