The Mission Of Ozarks Food Harvest Is To Alleviate Hunger In Southwest Missouri And Northern Arkansas. Ozarks Food Harvest Was Founded In 1983 To Serve As A Clearing House For Donated Food That Might Otherwise Go To Waste. In 1991, Ozarks Food Harvest Became A Certified Member Of America'S Second Harvest, The National Food Bank Network. Ozarks Food Harvest Is The Designated America'S Second Harvest Food Bank For 31 Counties In Southwest Missouri And 6 Counties In Northern Arkansas. In 2002 We Distributed 4.7 Million Pounds Of Donated Food To Hungry People Through Our Network Of 270 Hunger Relief Agencies. In Addition To Soliciting And Distributing Donated Food Ozarks Food Harvest Administers Direct Community Relief And Education Programs Such As Super Pantry, A Series Of Personal Development Workshops, Ozarks Food Gardens, Our Community Garden Project, And Kids' Cafe, Our After-School Feeding Program For At-Risk Children.
