Baltimore, MD -
Intake 24 hours a day.
Project PLASE, Inc. addresses homelessness in Baltimore by providing transitional housing, permanent housing and supportive services to homeless adults. We serve the most vulnerable and underserved, including persons with mental illness, HIV/AIDS, addiction, developmental disabilities, and ex-offenders, etc. We treat, restore and rehabilitate the whole person. We empower each individual to function at the highest level possible.
Temporary Housing
The goal of Project PLASEs Temporary Housing Program is to shelter and serve homeless adults. Including 24-hour supported supervision, on-site nursing and counseling services, and case management for our residents, this program focuses on helping the individual function at their highest level.
Residents are provided three meals daily, linens, bus tokens when available, assistance with medical appointments, and clothing as needed making it easier for residents to focus on their goals.
Each resident is assigned a counselor, to assist the individual in meeting their needs and moving beyond their crisis situation. Linkages to community based services and resources are made as appropriate, including: health, mental health, substance abuse treatment, life skills, job readiness and placement, education, and legal services.
Family Stability and Shelter Diversion
The Family Stability and Shelter Diversion Program is an alternative to traditional (congregate) shelters. Families who have lost their housing are diverted to temporary housing instead of a shelter and provided housing location and landlord negotiation, comprehensive case management, financial assistance and life skills training. This helps families to move out of homelessness quickly and transition back to permanent housing and self-sufficiency.
Subsidized Permanent Housing
Our Subsidized Housing Programs provide permanent, subsidized housing for individuals and families. This encompasses our Rental Assistance Program, Single Room Occupancy, PLASE Apartments, and our Celebration Housing Program.
The Rental Assistance Program is open to all homeless individuals and provides case management, a housing subsidy, and linkages to needed community resources.
Our Single Room Occupancy includes 10 single rooms with five clients sharing a bathroom and living area. PLASE Apartment contains 5 apartments, housing two clients each. These programs include case management and linkages to needed resources, same as our other permanent housing programs.
The Celebration Housing Program is designed to help homeless veterans achieve and maintain housing stability. Project PLASE puts an emphasis on individualized case management which maximizes the veterans opportunities to realize his or her goals. Individual homeless veterans and veteran headed households may apply. The priority focus is assisting those who have been chronically homeless.
