If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction or homelessness, Helping Up Mission may be able to provide immediate help. Do you need:
Temporary help due to a short-term crisis
Overnight Guest Services provides a night of shelter for men experiencing homelessness. There are 50 available beds, allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Check in begins at 2:30 pm. Overnight guests receive a bed for the night, two full hot meals (dinner and breakfast), toiletries for showering, clean clothes, and an evening chapel message. If they realize a personal need for recovery, they may apply to our Spiritual Recovery Program.
Comprehensive, long-term recovery services
The Spiritual Recovery Program is a one-year residential program for men fighting addiction and homelessness. If necessary, detox services are available through partnerships with local hospitals. Participants will live in a 12-Step therapeutic community, experiencing grace, accountability, and personal growth that equips them for lasting success on their recovery journey.

Applicants for the Spiritual Recovery Program must be:
    Male, at least 21 years old.
    U.S. citizens or legal aliens.
    Suffering from alcohol or substance abuse.
    Able to abide by a 45-day initial in-house restriction.
    Willing and able to perform work therapy assignments.
    Ready to become involved in all aspects of the program.
    Agreeable to all program policies and procedures.
    Available for a pre-entry personal interview on site (no telephone interviews).
Finally, applicants must NOT have open court dates or outstanding warrants. And no outside employment is permitted for the first six months of the program.

Because Helping Up Mission is a non-profit organization sustained by private donations, there are no fees for initial entry in the program.

However, individuals with non-employment sources of income (e.g. SSI) may be required to pay the prevailing rate for program fees. All others will be registered under the Food Stamp/TDAP Program to help defray program costs. When a man returns to gainful employment, usually around the six-month mark,he will accept personal responsibility for a portion of the costs associated with the residential program.

Beginning June 8th, 2020, we do intake interviews every other Monday between 7am and 3pm. If youre bringing any personal belongings with you, please limit them to what you can carry in a disposable bag of some kind. Everything will be provided. We are able to expedite the intake process for applicants who have just been tested for COVID-19 and have documentation of a negative test result.

I simply love this program! I think you all are one of the best in the Nation. My son was a client there and his life has improved greatly. It is very clear to me that you all did not choose this profession, it chose you! You are dedicated and personable. You show empathy and compassion towards those who are less fortunate and have no idea who they are or whose they are. Your efforts to help others show in your success rate. I always refer my male clients to The Helping Up Mission because, simply, it's works! May God continue to do a good work in your program!
