South Shore Community Action Council (SSCAC) assists homeless and low-income South Shore residents of all ages with food, housing, utilities, transportation, and early education.
Programs offered:
Case Management & Emergency Assistance: Main goal is to empower low-income individuals and/or families to achieve financial stability for long-term well-beingEarly Education & Care: Main goal is to create a great atmosphere for children between three months and five years of age to encourage self-confidence, school readiness, independence and intellectual curiosity. Children will have access to highly trained and dedicated training staff, nutritious meals and transportation with dedicated bus stops. Please note that space is limited.Food Resources & SSCAC's Food Distribution Center: Main goal is to get nutritious food to hungry individuals in the most cost-effective way through coordinated food pick-up, transport, storage and distribution.Transportation Assistance: Provides transportation services to eligible residents to adult day health programs, doctor and dental visits, dialysis, non-emergency hospital visits, social or recreational trips, shopping trips, education facilities , employment and/or welfare to work programs. Transportation is available by appointment only. Monday to Fridays from 6:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. Saturdays are reserved for medical necessities from 6:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.
