Grove Street Inn Shelter - All Year Round Shelter

The Grove Street Inn is the only year-round shelter in Hampshire County open to all homeless adults. The Inn was established in 1990 through community efforts. With no permanent base of funding, a unique community collaboration shares the responsibility for administering the Inn. The Inn is one of the few examples of a community working together to address the problem of homelessness.

The Inn shelters up to twenty men and women per night, for a maximum stay of three months.

A bed and only one meal is provided, which is dinner and the guests cook the meals in the evening as well as have chores to keep the house clean.

Most nights the Inn is full, and there is often a forty-five person waiting list.

Residents are able to:
Work on job and housing searches.
Work second and third shift jobs.
Connect with rehabilitative and medical services.

The Grove Street Inn also plays a key role in our community's efforts to address the problem of homelessness. The Inn's staff collaborates with the Hampshire County Interfaith Shelter, which served an additional 140 men and women last winter.
