Hideous experience. My rapid rehousing program awarded to me was wrecklessly administered and lost due to no fault of my own. The board seems lazy and ineffective in overseeing the executive director's unethical actions in causing me further destabilization. You will be ok at this shelter as long as you never complain if you are harmed. They removed me for rightfully complaining of the harm I endured there which was illegal retaliation. If you go here, just keep your mouth shut. I was painfully removed for speaking up and tossed into the cold after having a bed there for 2 months. I was painfully hurt and emotionally abused at this shelter.

I think the existence of of Craig's Place, especially with the current leadership, comforts all the caring people of the Amherst area. It is valuable to each of us to know that all people in our community have all their human needs met. We all have access to a free meal three times a day (including the meals at the Survival Center and Not Bread Alone); we have a warm place to stay; and the shelter residents have the community of their shelter family. I don't think we can thank the leaders of these agencies, especially Craig's Place enough. All our lives would be greatly diminished if these services were not there.
