Pads Lake County

Come to our Resource Center at 1800 Grand Avenue between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday to complete an intake and start to get help
Emergency Overnight ShelterPADS is the only non-restrictive overnight emergency shelter system in Lake County. Our 15 rotating shelter sites are open every night from 7:00 pm 7:00 am, between October 1 and April 30. From May 1 through September 30, a single shelter site is open every night for a limited number of persons. Through this network, persons experiencing homelessness can have a safe, warm place to sleep 365 days a year.

Day Resource Center
PADS Day Resource Center is the point of entry for persons experiencing homelessness. Upon falling into homelessness, individuals and families can come to PADS to get assessed and receive the assistance they need. At the Day Resource Center we:
Orient our new clients on how to utilize our emergency shelter system;
Assess clients for need and appropriateness for other programs and services;
Provide access to basic needs; and
Provide case management and counseling services to get out of homelessness.

Family Shelter
The Family Shelter is a complement to our traditional emergency shelter system that meets the unique needs of families with children and provides them the dignity and respect they deserve while working to overcome their barriers and get out of homelessness and back into housing.

Outreach
PADS Outreach Program seeks to find and engage persons experiencing homelessness out in the community, sleeping in cars, tents, or elsewhere. We literally meet them where they are, and help engage them into services. These are often the most vulnerable of the homeless population, and have some resistance to services. The Outreach Program helps them receive those services in an environment in which they are comfortable.
Supportive Housing
PADS' Supportive Housing program is for individuals experiencing a longer term of homelessness as a result of their disability (referred to as chronically homeless). This disability is usually some form of mental illness.

    Every organization around lake county has referred me to pads.. I went to pads.. I filled out the application for assistance.. pads tells me that they are at full capacity and refuses to assist me with housing but in their website they say they are still assisting people who are vulnerable.. I have congestive heart failure with only 29% of my heart working and stage 3 of kidney disease.. so wouldn't that put me in the category of vulnerable? My resources for paying for a place to stay have ran out but pads still refuses to assist me.. so my review for this organization is not good
