We provide emergency shelter, case management resources and hope to women and children.
God's Shelter of Love is Decatur's oldest homeless shelter. We serve married couples and single women; with or without children. For quite some time, we have been accepting women released from prison. Our goal is to help people become self-sufficient citizens.Our residents are not given a time limit on their stay at the shelter. Each person is allowed to progress at their own pace. They have many rules to follow and must complete daily chores. They are required to look for work. There is no cost to the residents to stay at the shelter. They are permitted to use their own discretionary funds for personal use, transportation, etc. The balance of their earnings is saved until they are ready to leave our shelter.
