Shelter for single homeless women. The mission of Free Clinic Women's Residence is to provide safe and supportive transitional housing for single, homeless women who are capable of living independently.
The Women's Residence provides a safe place for single homeless women to stay while they are working, saving and planning for independent living. The residence can shelter a maximum of 20 women. The residents are supported through referral and information programs such as education about budgeting, goal setting, job seeking, and self-esteem. Women stay an average of 6 months; todays economic climate requires many residents to stay longer.
Individuals come to the Women's Residence for a variety of reasons: economic difficulties, recovery from drug or alcohol use, or family problems. To stay at the Womens Residence they must be drug and alcohol free, be able to work and save money for future independent living. All residents must help maintain the cleanliness of their rooms and the house in general.
