Salvation Army Shelter - Center of Hope

Emergency Shelter /food/ vouchers/ and other assistance provided.

Emergency shelter services are available to anyone in need, regardless of race, creed, age or gender.  We have more than 200 beds in the emergency shelter.   Families and individuals in need of temporary shelter are provided a safe, secure environment along with nutritional meals during their stay.We have several collaborative partners within the community to assist our clients.  Our goal is to assist them to move past the immediate crisis stage that brought them to The Salvation Army to the goal of self-sufficiency and ultimately to successful independent living.  Initially the clients needs are identified by the case managers. They first establish a plan of action to stabilize the situation, seek solutions for immediate needs and then establish long term goals.

  2. Not a great enviroment as most clients are mostly City/ County Police referrals. So basically a jail type population.

How long can you stay here?

User Answers

  1. Depends on the program that you get into. Otherwise it is $12.00 per night, you get a shower, floor mat, and not so good food.No security so anything goes.

Back in 2005 I was going through rough times. I stayed at both Sarasota and Bradenton's shelters and they are a blessing. They provided food, shelter, and help to get me back on my feet. Great people who work and volunteer there. If your ever in need, this is a safe, clean shelter to go to if your in need.
