Inter-City Upbeat, Inc., Founded In 1993, Grew Out Of The Need To Provide Positive Programs To Address Youth And Families Who Live In The Inner City. The Community Is One Of The Oldest African-American Communities Infested With High-Crime Such As Prostitution, Drugs, Transients, Homeless People, Elderly, School Drop-Out And Young Single Teen Parents. Inter-City Upbeat Is A 501(C)(3) Organization, Which Is Governed By A Board Of Directors Who Volunteers Their Time To Help Educate Young People And Provide Hope To A Much-Needed Community. Inter-City Upbeat, Inc., Believes Highly In The Learning Ability Of All Youth Regardless Of Race, Creed, Color, Religion, Or Ethnic Background. Inter-City Upbeat, Inc. Mission Is To Develop Today'S Youth And Families For Tomorrow'S Future. Our Goals Are To Empower Youth Ages 6-19 To Further Their Education, Build Self-Esteem, Promote Developing Person, Social, And Family Relationships, Motivate Youth To Become Productive Citizens And Encourage Responsible Decision Making, To Decrease Youth Violence In The Community.
