Emergency Shelter
Catholic Charities 801 East Mens Shelter is a low-barrier shelter program open to anyone who identifies as male 18 years and older. The program offers a hot dinner, access to case management staff, showers, and a bed on a nightly basis. The low-barrier shelter provides 380 beds every night and is open from 7 pm to 7 am daily.
Shelter hours may be extended due to weather alerts issued by DC government. DC Shelter Hotline Shuttle service to downtown Washington, DC is provided several times per day to assist clients in getting to and from our site. The shelter also serves as a hypothermia emergency shelter during the coldest months of the year, from November to March.
Transitional Rehabilitation Program
TRP provides a maximum of six months of transitional rehabilitation services for up to forty-six (46) homeless single adult males from 18 years of age and older. The program aids clients in their recovery and search for permanent housing by offering access to mainstream programs and supportive services appropriate to the clients individual needs. The program provides individualized case management, addiction counseling services, life skills workshops, and stable supportive housing for six months (6) in order to promote self-sufficiency, harm reduction and sobriety.

Youth Transitional Program
YTP provides transitional shelter services for up to twenty-four (24) homeless single adult males from 18 24 years of age. All clients must present TB test (no older than six months). Intake appointments preferred but walk-ins are welcome. For an appointment call (202) 561-4014 ext.132; Monday to Friday from 10 am to 8 pm. The program aids young adults in their search for permanent housing and offers access to other community programs and supportive services appropriate to the clients individual needs. The program provides individualized case management, life skills workshops, and stable supportive housing for up to twenty-four (24) months to promote self-sufficiency and independence.
