The R.J. Montgomery Center (Salvation Army Shelter) is Colorado Springs only 24/7 homeless shelter. The Center offers education, individualized care and a chance for kids to be kids in a safe, clean environment.

The shelter can house and feed up to 210 residents per night and averages about 187 individuals per night. The Center provides men, women and children with 24-hour shelter including case management, nutritious meals, and a safe place to rebuild their lives. 45% of our clients effectively move from The Salvation Army R.J. Montgomery Center to long-term housing solutions.

  1. I was there 6yrs ago and during the time I was there manage to find permanent housing. I am stable and have not been homeless since

  2. No blankets, breakfast was 1 small oatmeal with no flavor, and a cup of hot water.

  3. Not so good when you have most of the people working there that will throw their power around with rumors controlling the situation. With so many families/individuals having to compete for a bed. Being bias and has caused much chaos between families inside the RJ Montgomery Shelter...

    Please look into the harassment of others at the sierra madre location . Women ate being bullied by other and tattled on to get them exited like they did my daughter. She now has no place to go during the pandemic. Michelle also needs to be looked into for not handling things in a professional manner. It is unfortunate that this facility is being handled in this manner.
