Family Shelter
We strive to create a safe, welcoming, and non-judgemental shelter utilizing innovative, creative and groundbreaking programming to support families on the housing journey.
Our Family Shelter program addresses the immediate, basic needs for families currently experiencing homelessness. We provide a family with one of our eight safe, clean and furnished two-bedroom units complete with necessary household goods. These units are the familys own private space as they navigate and advocate their way to housing stability. The normalcy provided by individual units allows families to recover and heal from trauma. Families meet bi-weekly with a case manager who provides housing, employment, mental and physical health, and other relevant referrals. In addition, staff and clients engage in trauma-informed discussions surrounding relationships, coping, as well as self- advocacy techniques for families as they navigate complex systems. So far this year, we have served 53 families and next year, we plan to serve 30-40 families.
Please we are only accepting direct referrals from Adams County TANF Program. If you are not a direct referral from Adams County, please call United Ways 211 number for more shelter options.
Continuing Community
Our Continuing Community program supports families to maintain their housing stability. We honor families hard work in achieving housing stability with continued support and a life-long community. As part of this program, our case manager provides continued services and referrals and encourages families to access our day sites food pantry, resource room, and family development room complete with a trauma-informed playroom and school zone catering to all ages. So far this year, we have served 50 families and we plan to serve 55 families next year.
