Pathways' mission is to end homelessness for women and children through hospitality, housing, and hope. We are a private, not for profit, United Way agency that helps homeless women and children put their lives back together.
Here's how we help:
We supply emergency services for homeless women and children showers, clean clothes and hot meals. Last year, our Day Center served more than 1,200 women and children.
We provide both short-term transitional and long-term transitional housing for women and children.
We offer a Safe Haven for chronically homeless women with a mental illness. Our Safe Haven is the only program of its kind in Alabama.
We assist with life plans so women can identify their individual paths to self-sufficiency.
We teach life and employment skills, such as how to handle money, how to use a computer, how to interview, and how to operate in a business environment.
We assist with transportation, child care, and job searches.
We teach homeless children about decision-making, anger management, and character education.
