Downtown Hope Center provides services to the homeless of Anchorage.

We are open 7 days a week providing the only single women's shelter in Anchorage. Women are provided with a healthy warm dinner provided daily by our Culinary Arts students. The women are offered a chance to join Feed Me Hope Bakery to learn a marketable job skill. Downtown Hope Center also provides lunch daily to over 400 homeless or economically struggling individuals.

Showers, laundry service and clean clothing are also provided daily. In addition we have a 14 week Culinary Arts work force development program available to anyone in need of a skill to re-enter the workforce.

Tags Donations Needed: SHELTER: Pajamas, twin size sheets and blankets, coffee/sugar/creamer/tea, CLOTHING ROOM: Hats, gloves, socks, jeans, hoodies, winter coats, long johns, fleece jackets, (all both men and womens), backpacks, belts, reading glasses KITCHEN: 12oz & 8oz styrofoam cups, gallon zip lock bags, small plastic bowls, plastic spoons, disposable gloves, Large (33gal) trash bags, Mayo (30gal bucket), Beans, rice, noodles, peanut butter, jelly, #10 canned goods, SHOWER HOUSE: basic toiletries, womens hygeine products, tooth brushes, tooth paste, hair ties, first aid supplies, razors, combs, shampoo, conditioner. Volunteers Needed: Yes, we accept volunteers in all areas of ministry. 9-2 Lunch prep and service 9-2 Shower House 6-7 Dinner Service 6-12 Women's Shelter
