The Tyler Blain House, located in Lancaster, New Hampshire, is a 4-bedroom Victorian home. It is ADA compliant and has the ability to house up to 8 individuals at a time. Shelter guests have independent access to a large eat-in kitchen, a community food pantry, laundry facilities and a common area. Food and material goods assistance are provided as needed. On-site staff provides individualized case management services to all shelter guests, including help with transportation. Staff also assists shelter guests in developing plans to meet their goals of being self-sufficient and securing permanent housing. All are welcome at Tyler Blain, except individuals who are a safety threat to themselves or others, and unaccompanied minors.

We celebrate every resident’s birthday with a gift! Example gifts: bath robe, personal stereo, clock radio, gift cards to local businesses (Rite Aid, Dunkin Donuts, Subway, WalMart), jewelry/jewelry boxes, streamers or other birthday decorations.
Activities & Cultural Events
Event outings provide a special treat and an opportunity to build community and reduce isolation. Groups can range from 6-25. Example events: tickets to the movies, theatre, or concerts, restaurant gift certificates, tickets to sporting events, museum passes, and organized events for small groups (e.g. bowling, ice skating). Volunteers Needed: One-to-One Program
Friendly Visits – Volunteers stop by a client’s home for a visit at a designated time each week to reminisce, play games, talk, or go for walks. Supportive team player for meetings, medical appointments, to navigate services.
Friendly Phone Calls – Volunteers call a client to check in on them, see how they’re doing, and share any recent headlines and community events.
Handy Helpers
Volunteers help other seniors with anything from running errands to fixing things around the house.
Medical Transportation
Currently recruiting for volunteers who have good driving records and desire to assist people in getting to necessary medical appointments.
