Rainbow House - Children's Emergency Shelter

Rainbow House is a children's emergency shelter and regional child advocacy center. Children from birth to 18 years of age that are going through a family crisis or have been/are experiencing neglect or abuse in their home or can stay at the Rainbow House. Children may be admitted by the Children's Division if they were removed from their houses and placed in foster care or they may be admitted through the Crisis Care program, which is more of a preventive service that can potentially prevent abuse or neglect to the children.
The main goal of the shelter is to reduce emotional trauma in children that have been neglected, abused or affected by a family crisis whilst providing a safe and loving space.


Children Emergency Shelter:
Provides temporarily housing to children that are in foster care.Assists parents that request placement for their children during a family crisis.

Regional Child Advocacy Center (CAC):
Provides forensic interviewing, advocacy and therapy for children that have been sexually abused and/or severely physically abused.

Additional Services:

Clinical Programs - Combines therapy services with outreach programs with the goal of ending child maltreatment and focusing in their healing.
Therapy Services - Therapy is focused on abuse and trauma. Play therapy and other approaches might be used to assist children and their families. Rainbow House Support Groups - Family Advocate Program that assists the child and non-offending caregiver who have been through child abuse and neglect by focusing on supporting the family, their needs, and provide assistance in connecting them with adequate community resources. Along with other agencies, the goal is to ensure that the children get the best services available so that the family can move forward.
